Treatment Options for Thinning Hair

PRP + Microneedling

From $500

PRP is a powerful tool for treating thinning hair. The growth factors in platelet-rich plasma help stimulate dormant hair follicles, encouraging natural regrowth and improving hair density over time. For enhanced results, PRP is often combined with microneedling to boost absorption and maximize follicle stimulation.

Nano-Fat Rejuvenation

From $1,500

Nano-fat grafting is an innovative treatment for hair loss. Rich in stem cells and growth factors, nano-fat works to rejuvenate the scalp and awaken dormant hair follicles. When combined with PRP and microneedling, this powerful trio enhances natural hair growth, thickens thinning areas and supports long-term follicle health to help you regain fuller, healthier-looking hair.

How Platelet-Rich Plasma Stimulates Hair Growth

Most people think of platelets only as the part of the blood that forms clots and stops bleeding. That is half the job. Once the bleeding has stopped, platelets go to work repairing the injury and restoring the tissue around it, releasing growth factors that stimulate collagen production, improve cell turnover and encourage the formation of new blood vessels.

That repair capacity is why platelet-rich plasma moved out of orthopedics and wound care and into aesthetic medicine. Applied to the scalp, PRP works by stimulating dormant hair follicles, improving scalp health and increasing hair thickness over time. It suits patients in the early stages of thinning, and anyone who would rather support long-term hair health than wait for loss to advance. You can read more about how we use PRP across the practice.

What to Expect During a PRP and Microneedling Session

Treatment begins with a consultation to evaluate your scalp, your goals and whether PRP is the right approach for you. On the day of the appointment, a numbing cream is applied for comfort.

A small amount of your blood is then drawn and placed in a centrifuge, which separates and concentrates the platelet-rich plasma. Microneedling creates thousands of microchannels across the treatment area, which does two things at once: it triggers the body’s own healing response, and it allows plasma applied to freshly needled skin to penetrate far more deeply than it could on its own. In some cases the plasma is also injected directly into targeted areas.

Expect some redness for roughly 24 to 48 hours afterwards, similar to a mild sunburn. Most patients return to their normal routine the following day. Our PRP microneedling page covers the combination in more detail.

How Nano-Fat Rejuvenation Works on the Scalp

Nano-fat grafting reaches the same goal by a different route. A small amount of fat is harvested from an area such as the abdomen or love handles, then processed to separate out the fluids and leave a very smooth concentrate rich in stem cells and growth factors. Because the result is so fine, it can be delivered through an ultra-fine applicator.

The important distinction is depth. Nano-fat is injected into the skin itself, not underneath it the way a fat transfer adds volume. Placed at that level in the scalp, it works to rejuvenate hair follicles for regrowth and improved density. Paired with PRP and microneedling, the three together are intended to maximize the scalp’s own growth and healing response.

When Results Appear

PRP and nano-fat both work by prompting your own tissue to do the rebuilding, so change is gradual rather than immediate. Most patients begin to notice improvement within a few weeks, with results continuing to develop over several months as collagen builds and follicles respond.

Because both treatments use material taken from your own body, the risk of allergic reaction is minimal, and the outcome tends to look natural for the simple reason that it is: your body is doing the work. Individual results vary.
