Pricing for non-invasive fat reduction with CoolSculpting (cryolipolysis or fat freezing) varies among providers and geographic areas. As FDA approved CoolSculpting has become more prevalent, there has been a push for lower prices with the increase in competition. That said, not all CoolSculpting treatments are equal! There’s a lot to be said about the clinic and the experience that you have when you come for your CoolSculpting consultation and with the experience of your providers!
How much does CoolSculpting Cost in Kansas City or Omaha?
At Imagen Body Sculpting, our board certified cosmetic surgeons specialize in body contouring with liposuction procedures and non-surgical fat reduction treatments. We have the newer CoolSculpting applicators and all of the different shapes and sizes available, allowing us to treat almost any area of the body. There are two basic sizes when it comes to the cost of CoolSculpting at Imagen, large and small.
Most body areas can be treated with applicators that fall into the “small” category. These applicators can be used to most areas of the body, from the double chin to the abdomen and the outer thigh and knees. The “large” applicators are generally used on larger areas, like the lower abdomen (it’s about double the size of the small applicators). Our pricing for CoolSculpting is simple. Each cycle for the small applicators is $500 and each large cycle is $1000.
What is the cost for CoolSculpting in Washington D.C., Miami or New York?
It’s well known that cosmetic procedures are often less expensive on the coasts because of higher competition. This isn’t generally the case with CoolSculpting pricing. In fact, our prices are similar or slightly less than the national average cost of CoolSculpting at $700 per cycle.
How Many Treatments are Needed with CoolSculpting?
The total number of treatments will vary greatly. Each patient has different needs and goals and the number of treatments you need may be different than how many your friend needs. For example, on the abdomen, you may need just 1 to treat your “pooch” or you may need a treatment plan of 4-6 cycles to cover your abdomen and several rounds of treatments. If you are wanting to freeze the fat away from the extremities (for example the upper arms), you will need at least one cycle per side.
Individual results will vary, so it’s really impossible to say with certainty how many cycles you will need. How your stubborn fat responds to the treatment is the biggest factor, and we can’t tell that until you have had the treatment and we do your before and after photos (3 months after your CoolSculpting session).
Is One Session of CoolSculpting Enough?
The number of CoolSculpting sessions or rounds you will need will depend on how much unwanted fat is in the treatment area to start and what your fat reduction goals are. Each cycle will result in the removal of about 20-25% of the fat cells in the treated area. If you have more excess fat, you may see more reduction, but because you have more to start, you may want more treatments to achieve your desired result. For most patients, we recommend starting with 2 treatment sessions, a week apart. We will see you back at your 3 month follow up to review your results and see if you would benefit from further treatments to the areas of concern.
What Is the Best Way to Pay for CoolSculpting?
The best way to pay for any cosmetic procedure is cash, but that’s not always an option. We offer several financing options to help make your procedure affordable. CareCredit offers 6 months deferred financing and is a popular choice for financing your CoolSculpting procedure. Some patients use their rewards credit cards to get the points or cash back for their procedure.
You should also be sure to ask if your CoolSculpting provider participates in Allē. This rewards program from Allergan earns you points with each CoolSculpting treatment that can be used for coupons on future treatments (with CoolSculpting or any other Allergan product, like Botox and Juvéderm).
Is Cool Sculpting Worth the Money?
Whether or not you think that a procedure is “worth it” will depend on your expectations of the outcome. As a non invasive procedure, CoolSculpting has limitations. The results are typically less impressive than those you see with a surgical procedure, but the flip side of that coin is that there is essentially no downtime. If you are doing CoolSculpting because it is “cheaper” than liposuction, you will likely be disappointed in your results. In order to have results that are similar to those of a liposuction, you will likely need multiple cycles and multiple sessions, resulting in a total cost that is similar. My grandfather always told me…”you get what you pay for.”
What Areas Can Be Treated With CoolSculpting?
Does CoolSculpting Work on Fat on the Stomach? Yes. The abdomen is one of the most popular areas to treat with CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting is a great treatment option for almost any focal pocket of subcutaneous body fat. This fat is found just beneath the skin, lying over the top of your muscles. CoolSculpting does not treat visceral fat. Visceral fat is found below the abdominal muscles, around your organs. Unfortunately, the only treatment for visceral fat is weight loss through diet and exercise.
CoolSculpting can be used to treat the love handles or flanks, but this area doesn’t generally respond as well as the abdomen. It is also FDA-cleared to treat the inner thighs, back fat and along the jawline.
How Long Do CoolSculpting Results Last?
CoolSculpting uses cooling technology to cause the rupture and death of fat cells. As adults, we don’t make new fat cells, so the death of fat cells results in permanent fat removal. That being said, CoolSculpting removes only 20-25% of the fat cells in an area, so your body can still store calories in the remaining 75-80% of the fat layer. A healthy diet and exercise will remain important parts of keeping your body looking amazing.
What are the Side Effects of CoolSculpting?
Overall, CoolSculpting is a very safe procedure. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (.), “The complication rate is low and the satisfaction rate is high.” Some patients will experience mild bruising and/or soreness post-treatment and few patients will have swelling. These side effects have improved significantly with the release of the newer applicators. The best known serious risk of CoolSculpting is an increase in fat in the area, something known as PAH (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia). This is a rare side effect that happens in less than 0.1% of CoolSculpting treatments. If you happen to be in that tiny fraction, PAH is treated with liposuction.
What is the Downside of CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting’s biggest downside, in my opinion, is the need for several treatments. Many patients are looking for a “one and done” cosmetic procedure for fat reduction and will be happier with the results of a liposuction. CoolSculpting can be a great treatment for the right patient though!
So how do you know if CoolSculpting is for you? CoolSculpting is best suited for patients who have smaller areas, fat bulges or focal pockets of pinchable fat. They should be willing to combine the procedure with healthy lifestyle choices to ensure a great long term result. CoolSculpting is also great for patients who don’t want any incisions, don’t want to tell anyone they “had work done” or who can’t afford the recovery time of a more invasive procedure. As a potential CoolSculpting patient, you should also talk with your provider about realistic expectations for the results of the procedure and ask for the surgeon’s recommendation for what would be the best treatment to achieve your goals in the targeted area.
What is the Difference
Between CoolSculpting and Liposuction?
Between CoolSculpting and Liposuction? (If you aren’t a great candidate for CoolSculpting, you might be better served with liposuction or a more invasive procedure like a tummy tuck. Be sure to consult with an office that has multiple options for body contouring. As they say…”When your only tool is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” Some medspas who offer CoolSculpting as their only body contouring option may recommend it for patients who would get better results from a lipo or a tummy tuck. We have seen patients with CoolSculpting proposals from other offices for more than it would cost for a liposuction or that were never told that they weren’t a good candidate for CoolSculpting. We offer free consultations and pride ourselves on being honest with our patients in terms of our expectations for the results of any procedure.
